Why are you running for office?

It has been a true honor to serve District 20A for two terms as their MN State Representative and now I am fully concentrated on being re-elected. The four years I have been in office, as a Republican, has been a very difficult time to watch what has happened under Democrat control, mismanagement of tax dollars, and lack of political leadership. Under the Democrat trifecta in 2023-24, Democrats spent a 19 billion surplus, raised taxes 10 billion and increased our state budget nearly 40%. No business could survive this explosion of spending, and neither can our state government. From day one, my message is simple; less government, less overreach, less taxes, less unfunded mandates – still today, I believe this is the best path forward. I am proud to be holding the line for people of this District who are tired of high taxes and watching the fraud, waste and abuse that has happened throughout our state agencies. This election is very important! Minnesotans have a real opportunity to vote republican to change the projection of this state. I look forward to working in this capacity to bring healing to our state!

What experiences have prepared you to serve effectively in this role?

Many life experiences have contributed to the person I am today and why I have chosen to serve in this capacity. Growing up on a farm gave me a tremendous work ethic and a deep respect for our environment. Having kidney cancer in 2008 gave me a passion to live healthier. This cancer experience also is why I started my sales business and why I worked tirelessly to build a sales team which spreads across the United States and Canada. The products I promote focus on green cleaning products which are environmentally friendly while creating healthier homes by reducing toxic chemicals that typical homes are using. Covid was another moment in time, which motivated me to help others. Now that we are several years out from that period, many clearly see the government overreach that happened to us. Political leaders determined large box stores could stay open, while your local small businesses were forced to close. The government told you could not worship in your churches, and that you could not go to a loved one’s funeral or hold your dying family member's hand in the hospital. I am not a political person by nature. My guide is common sense, hard work ethic, my faith, and life experiences which motivate me to serve others.

What are your top three priorities if elected?

Most Minnesotans want the same things. They want their lives to be more affordable. They want to feel safe in their neighborhoods. They want our children to have a quality education. And they want to know whether the taxes they are paying go to these areas and to the people who need them the most, like our elderly or people with disabilities. To best represent the people of my district, my priorities match these simple desires for the Minnesota government to serve the people and not have their tax dollars go to fraudsters and non-profits with no oversight. Serving on the Election committee, I would prioritize making our elections transparent, making our voter roles available to both parties to review for accuracy. Our public education has seen a drastic increase in unfunded mandates, placing many schools in financial turmoil, I would focus on giving back local control to our public schools and repealing many of the unfunded mandates forced on them. Rooting out fraud in our state agencies requires us to modernize our welfare systems and use technology to find and eliminate fraud on the front-end instead of trying to prosecute it after it already happened.

How do plan to address your top priorities?

Serving on the Education Finance Committees, I have heard from many educators and administrators on how the Democrat’s unfunded mandates are crippling their schools. Solutions are simple, it is to trust our schools and repeal unfunded mandates by giving back local control to our schools. I am working on legislation to simplify our elections while giving access to both parties to verify our elections. There should never be a time that only one party has access to verify, which is happening now under Governor Walz and Secretary of State Steve Simon. Lastly, we need to continue to invest in modernization and eliminating funding to non-profits who have no accountability.

What do you believe is the greatest challenge facing the people you hope to represent?

We are living in a very divided society right now and I contribute that division mostly to media bias and public misinformation. I believe most of us would agree on 80% of all issues if we were given the same facts on both sides. My personal experience has been to see the media heavily represent only the democrat’s agenda and mislead the public by withholding valuable information which would potentially change public opinions if they had more facts on an issue. I have witnessed republicans do press conferences which the media did not cover. The greatest challenge as I see it, is for people to realize that having different opinions does not make us enemies, but shutting down viewpoints and suppressing speech is never a productive way to understand each other or work towards best outcomes in our society.

Public service requires collaboration. How would you work with individuals who hold different viewpoints?

One of the most common things I hear when knocking on doors and talking to people is they will say, “we just want to see both parties work together.” Very honestly, I would like that to happen as well. Working together means hearing from all sides, accepting amendments on bills, working to bring legislation to the middle. Unfortunately, the last four years, Minnesotans have seen the Democrats legislate as if we are a hard-left state and that simply is not true. I believe we are in a very purple state and not just because we like the Vikings. For the sake of the future of Minnesota, I look forward to a future time that common sense prevails and extremism fails. I believe this happens with a republican majority to bring us back to being the purple state which is where the public wants us to be.

How will you communicate with and remain accessible to your constituents?

I strive to make my office available to all. Email, call, reach out.

At the end of your term, what accomplishments would define success?

My goals are simple it is to bring accountability back to our Minnesota State Government. Bringing a more business mindset versus always looking for new ways to tax our citizens, which has been the norm under Democrat control. We must start using tax dollars more wisely and respect the people who are working hard and paying into the tax system. People are upset with the fraud, waste and abuse that happened across Minnesota agencies. They should be! Minnesota has made national news all too often for the fiscal mismanagement which is happening across our state. I believe success comes when we provide tax relief and accountability. In Minnesota, we do not have a revenue problem, compared to other states, we have the money we need. We have a problem with political leadership having the virtues to act in a responsible way of your tax dollars. Minnesotans deserves better – I will strive to provide that to them!

Tell voters something about yourself outside of politics.

I am a very competitive person, whether, that is playing Euchre, 500, Cribbage or Fantasy Football with my family, I play to win. In my life, just like most people, there have been roadblocks, challenges, and disappointments. For example, having kidney cancer, or losing a job, but in these types of situations, I dig deep, I find a path around the bad situation, I don’t give up and you have my word, I won’t give up on Minnesota either!
